Soups And Souls Sunday

January 1 - February 3

Please bring cans of soup to the altar as we collect cans to feed the homeless on Super Bowl Sunday, February 5.  It’s Team 1 against Team 2.

Team 1 = Under 45

Team 2 = 45 and over

Which team will bring the most cans?  Let’s do this!

Day 1 of Service, Saturday, February 2

We will leave from New Birth (steeple side) to go out into the community, neighborhoods and shopping areas in close proximity to the church, inviting the community to join us for our Super Bowl Sunday Worship Service experience on February 3.

  • Please attend a required brief Evangelism/Door-to-Door training.
  • Transportation will be provided to the first 145 volunteers who register online on a separate form and request to ride on the New Birth shuttle bus.
  • Volunteers are requested to wear a New Birth t-shirt or sweatshirt.  New sweatshirts are also available for purchase in our Called to Conquer Bookstore.

Day 2 of Service Sunday, February 3 – Super Bowl Party (On Campus):

  • New Birth is hosting a Super Bowl party in honor of the homeless community. The homeless will be bussed to worship service and invited to attend a party in the Family Life Center following service.
  • The event begins at 7:30 AM if you volunteered for setup, decorations, cooks & bus monitors at the Family Living Center.
  • All other volunteers report to the Family Living Center at 11:00 AM for instructions. Please be on time so we will be in place and prepared for the guests when they arrive.
  • Volunteers are requested to wear a New Birth t-shirt or sweatshirt.  New sweatshirts are also available for purchase in our Called to Conquer Bookstore.

  Day 2 of Service Sunday, February 3 – Super Bowl Party (Off Campus) Safe House Homeless Ministry:

  • Volunteers are invited to join the Christian Shelter Ministry for the monthly evening of service at Safe House Homeless Ministry located at 89 Ellis Street NE Atlanta, GA 30303 (downtown off of Peachtree Street between the Hard Rock Café and the Peachtree Center M.A.R.T.A. train station)
  • A worship service will be held first. Then guests will be served a hot meal afterwards.
  • Volunteer areas: greeters, ushers, intercessors, food preparation, food distribution.
  • Volunteers are to report to Safe House at 5:30pm.
  • Volunteers are asked to wear a New Birth t-shirt or sweatshirt.
