25 Apr A World Full of Needs
Are you willing to serve unnoticed? James Stevens was a deacon on a mission. He dedicated his time serving people in his community and his local church, deliberately seeing about the needs of others. Serving meant taking time away from his home, his family and life comforts. However, he noticed how others were too busy fixing their own life issues rather than serving others. That’s why he decided to be a conduit for others to help restore them to Christ. Our job as believers is to serve the needs of others, since God created us for His purpose. Then, He sets us loose in a world full of needs. It’s not superhero stuff, but don’t pass by someone in need holding out for a more glamorous purpose. If it’s God you seek to serve, it doesn’t matter if people notice what you’re doing.
But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. Matthew 23:11 NKJV
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to put aside our selfish desires and vain ambition. Teach us to be true servants in both word and deed. In Jesus name, Amen.
