        Next Generation Children's Ministry

“So the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands”

   Mission

Children’s Ministry is the avenue used by New Birth Missionary Baptist Church to break down the vision and the word spoken in the house at an age-appropriate level for children ages 4-12.

Our purpose is to instill the character, biblical foundations and principles of Christ into the hearts and minds of all children. Our mission is to equip children at their present age to develop an understanding of Christ that they would begin to develop and build a personal relationship with Christ.

Our goal is to partner with New Birth Missionary Baptist Church parents as we, together, raise children who whole-heartedly serve Christ through obedience, worship, and Godly character. .

Welcome Parents

N.G.C.M is so excited that you have allowed your child(ren) to be a part of this awesome ministry, one that is making a life lasting impact in the hearts and minds of all children. Together, as we the teachers partner with you the parents, and as you the parents help the teachers by building a spiritual foundation in the lives of your children in the home, together we WILL raise our children as a godly seed, as spiritual champions who impact the nation for Christ. Below you will see all that we offers and what your child can become a part of and even how you, the parent can play a more involved part of serving the ministry, your children and most importantly God.

Rainbows

The Rainbows program was created to facilitate children’s healing process from a loss of a parent(s) due to death, divorce, incarceration, separation or any form of loss. The program is a 12-week process of group discussions that are conducted from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the age conducting in hope of providing a safe environment for children to share what’s on their hearts and mind as well as to provide a non-threatening environment for them to express their feelings. The groups consist of children that are the same age and experiencing similar types of loss (death, divorce or prison etc). Each group has a Facilitator, not a Counselor, to keep the sessions on track with the Rainbows curriculum.

The sessions include discussion, written lessons and/or games- that are all age appropriate. Siblings are not allowed in the same group and each child is held responsible for maintaining confidentiality. The children are only allowed to share their own experience with others (Parents or siblings). The 12 weeks are divided into two 6 week sets, with a “Celebrate Me Day” at the end of each set. The “Celebrate Me Day” is a celebration of the progress the children have made. All of the groups come together and parents are invited to participate in the celebrate me day. Rainbows aim is to promote emotional healing and nurturing.

New Members

bullet

Next Generation new members orientation is for children who have made a decision to become new believers, children whose parents have become a part of New Birth from another Church and already believers, or children who are believers and would now like to be baptized.

bullet

We follow the same topics as in the adult’s new member orientation curriculum, with a few exceptions, we do not teach spiritual gifts, and speaking in tongues.  All materials are taught by age appropriateness so that the children are able to understand according to their developmental level.

bullet

Baptismal is taught as a part of being a Christian, according to the Bible in order to be baptized each child should have accepted salvation. If as teachers we feel the child is not ready for baptismal then at that time we will inform the parent, then the parent will take the baptismal material to study further with the child and return for reevaluation.

bullet

Salvation is offered after each child understands what is being taught in their class; it is ministered corporately. If there is a child that does not wish to pray the salvation prayer we do not force them and the parent is informed of the decision. Salvation is taught to the children, because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to hear and then accept. We do not force salvation; it is a heart decision and we are sensitive to each individual.

bullet

After your child completes the New Member class they must fill out a Covenant Agreement (contract), which will assign them to Children’s Church. Covenant Agreements (contracts) can be completed once your child has completed New Members. Completion of these classes makes your child eligible to fully participate in all aspects of the Next Generation Children’s Ministry
